Default feeling over moderated

Why do some threads that contain numerous political references remain.in the regular parts of.the.forum, but others that contain a.joke.with a political are immediately moved to politics?

Moderators work for free, and try to keep it inline within the owners guidelines, and some times, they miss something, when members step outside on that political thing.

Since it is such a sore topic

No one is targeted

But the political arena, well; lets not go there, outside the dedicated spot

My .02 is that we are on this site at the owners and moderators pleasure. Things do get screwed up from time to time but as a whole the moderators let things slide. I have been on several other forums that are more strictly moderated than this one.

Ok Tom lets go there. If a thread contains a political reference or commentary it should be moved to politics or the political posts should be deleted should they not? That would
Seem fair across the board. I offer the thread about gas prices. In the off topic as an example.

That thread ended up an anti-obama screed.

Innocent when you started it, but political soon after. It was fine at the start, but it became "political" quickly.

The "smoking rib" thread should be in recipes

Gas prices are totally driven by politics as is marijuana

And make a catergory for sports.

The answer is as simple as moving the politics section up immediately under the off topic section.

I agree I enjoy the politics section but rarely visit it due to it being hid at the bottom of the page... Seems like they did it on purpose.....

I think it was the Weed thread. NOT yours... I apologize for my mistake.
