Default Child rearing tips Section???

Like, How do you change the natiest diaper without gagging and puking???

Take4 pumps of hand sanitizer and wipe it allon your upper lip, or in your nose. By the time your eyes stop watering and you can smell again, the nastiest diaper is gone!!!

How about clipping nails? Wait till they fall asleep in the crib, with fishing buddy (or Wife/Husband) holding flashlight, clip nails until child becomes almost awake, then extinguish flashlight, and drop to floor, staying as quiet and still as possible. Repeat as needed.

Where is Garbo????

Just have to toughen up on the diaper thing. We were poor and used cloth diapers. That's a lost art. One good thing though, you will never be bothered by puke the rest of your life.We used a small squirt bottle and a mild soapy cloth to clean up the nuclear wast crap. Lots of Desitin. No rashes. Far as the nails, bad as it sounds, I used to let my kids fall asleep on my chest rocking them and bite them off. I know it sounds gross, but, it works. I was afraid to use clippers. This was while they were under 18 months. As recent as last year, I had a guy puke on my back from my shoulders to my ankles. Never gagged the first time. Washed the worst off with the raw water wash down, then shucked down on deck and went below and took a shower. No problem.

Never had a diaper problem..Haven't changed one since 1979, until I had that great experiencethis pastlast year. Babysat for a friend/forum member and the kidsdiaper was loaded...wanted to do what I've done to mine...Out in the yard and hit with the garden hose.

Being like Downtime, barfing around or on me has no effect..don't get me wrong, I don't like it but don't gag. Susan was glad that I'm that way as there were times I cleaned up after her....while on chemo. The worse shit I've ever smelt and got me anywhere close to a gag was ...Vietnamese nuock mam...think fermented fish sauce...rotten fish that has been sitting out in the sun for months..

I think Docs who do all the dirty work after a death(Pathologists)use a rub of something under their nose. Maybe it's available to the average Joe.

I'm a sympathetic puker... always have been. VERY embarrassing!

I'm with Ron on taking the garden hose to em.....I've done that several times...

The nastiest 1 I can think of was when my oldest 1 (16 now) was about a year and a half...we were at Foley shopping and I smelled him from the stroller.I told the ole lady that I'd take him to the car and change him.....Got him to the car and his diaper was over flowing!!!! As I was trying to clean him...ding ding ding round 2:bptsn The dirty diaper was still there and I caught most of it in my hands so it would not get on the seats!!!! I must have used a whole box of wipes to clean him and me!!!! AHHHHHHHH memories!!!! Glad I ain't got no babies no mo!!!!!:letsdrink

Aren't those the little ones that you spoil and get to send homewith their parents to pay for their rasing?

You would be surprised at the number of diapers you'll change with four grandchildren.
