Default Thinking about snapper fishing Friday- alabama

I am thinking about trying to go get some snapper Friday am. My understanding is that Federal waters is open if you go and come through Alabama ( will need alabama license). Looking for 2-4 guys to make a trip. Let me know if your interested. Boat is on lift on Perdido Key.

I think only state waters and if you get stopped crossing into FL you are not legal. Not sure if fWC will be watching that but Alabama law enforcement previously told be they love ticketing Florida boats coming through the pass at Orange Beach without Alabama licenses even if they are going directly to Perdiso Key or Pensacola.

Yes, you can fish federal waters.

The big risk transiting Florida waters to get to home ramp or marina. If FWC stops you then you are "illegal" technically.

Also we fished last Friday and the Alabama Game folks were stopping every boat they could coming under Perdido Pass bridge. They stopped us and checked licenses and limits. Nice guys.
