Default Whole deep fried?

Has anyone ever deep fried whole # 3 - # 4 fish? I'm thinking the next batch of these big Mingo's I might crank up the turkey fryer and try a couple fries whole.

It is a great way to cook whole fish.
I gut, scale, trim the fins and thoroughly wash and dry and make several slices at an angle into the fish.
Then I dust with heavily spiced flour making sure to get inside the cuts/body cavity and rubbing it on well.
Cook well in 380' oil.
Generously salt as soon as it lifted out of the oil, before it stops dripping.
Smarty likes this.

I've had it this way before and it tastes good. Though I do prefer my supper not making eye contact with me during the meal ! Hahaha give me filets or the head cut off every time for that reason!
