Hope it works out for your family, I know pets are like family. If things change you can be assured that you can find a good home for himwith people that responded here in the POSITVE way. We know your intentions were 100% thinking what was best foryourLab.As for the others they are not worth talking about.

Seaspots (6/11/2009)I wish more "dog/companion" owners would give heartfelt thought to their actions in giving up their companions. Is it convienence or absolute "must do" circumstances. I am over 50 with Dalmatians since birth. I have been through tough times and good times and even terrible times. Giving up a dog would be no different than giving up a child. A commitment is a commitment....period. How will your pup feel? How we he adjust? Heartfelt questions for anyone but I have "NO" respect for this type of crap unless there are really severe situations! Rather than take chances on a unknown and unproven new home you might just consider putting him down. No suffering that way. The way it is!~:banghead

You're a douchebag Bob. Maybe your family should put you down, that is if any of them still hang around you.

I hope you didn't decide to keep him out of guilt. If you know someone elsecould give him a better life, then you owe it to him to do that. But if you have decided to keep him....you need to see the movie "Marley & me" =)

Bob, you are an idiot! I have personally placed 5 or 6 adult labs with new homes and they adjust very quickly. To say something like that to a guy who is trying to do the right thing for the pet he loves is pretty shitty! Go to hell you dumbass!

I didnt see the movie, but I read the book. What a tear jerker at the end.

Actually, Rocky has some Marley qualities to him. He' the first male dog I have everhad, but he is a great dog. He just needs more attention thanany dog I have had in the past and with the addition of twins to our family and some up coming life changes, Iinitially felt that he might be better off with a new master.

I can assure you that the dog is well cared for and as the cliche goes, he thinks he's human with regards to his lounging and sleeping habits.
