My brother has had two French Brittany Spaniels. Best bird dogs I have ever hunted over, incredibly smart and great family dogs.

We got a CavaPoo - cross between Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Poodle. He is an excellent family dog and has the poodle intelligence.

He is an inside dog, but when it is cool outside he will spend hours on the back porch watching birds and squirrels at the feeder.

I'll put a Brittany up against a lab for destructive adolescence any day of the week. You can not tired out a Brittany. Super smart super sweet, just a compact destructive force of nature. I'd walk our old one for miles play fetch come home and she would bust out all the screen windows and eat all the kids underwear and socks.

Chase, I know a guy in Elberta that has Brittany's. They are not spaniels though. Lost that designation some time back.

My neighbor has a Brittany that is about 13 years old. She comes to visit all the time because I give her dog biscuits.

She is a total sweetheart unless you are a squirrel, rabbit or rat. I occasionally get rats in my garage and she will go crazy trying to sniff them out.

There is a big difference in a French Brittany and an American or English Brittany. Totally different dogs with different dispositions.
A French Brittany is generally slightly smaller and a calmer demeanor. Very loyal and they are great with kids.
