Launched around 6am to a freezing north/east wind. Finally found the topwater bite and landed three and then one on a Rapala subwalk. All were over 17". The colors I used were red/white and natural. I also had a bunch more blowups, but I couldn't get a hook in them. Some of the smaller strikes the trout were jumping clear of the water. I t was the best topwater action I've seen since last winter. I had jig poles with me, but I couldn't put my topwater rod down.
Met a nice gentleman who said he also caught a few while he was wade fishing. Looks like a cold weather is working. Hopefully I can get me a cheap camera to add some photos to my post.
