I have been prepping to go offshore in the Yak for the first time for about a month now. I get into Gulf Shores about noon on Thursday and it looks like that will be my best shot at calm water. So I guess I will rush to rental. dump stuff in yard and hurry to beach.
I wanted to put out my float plan and see if I could get any pointers or other ideas that may be better. I would like to have it all planned since I have no time for scoutting of prepping
I plan on getting to the Orange Beach Pier about 3pm. I plan on working down to the SE and trolling for kings outside Perdido pass. There is an outgoing tide low tide at 8pm. I have found a few public GPS numbers within a few miles of the pass. I'm sure theve been nailed but I am going to try to drop on a few spots of live bottom with hopes of getting something to eat. Really my biggest goal is to hook a King.
As long as I stay a mile of so outside of the pass is boat traffic to dangerous in that area?
Has the rain ruined everything this close?
If anyone wants to go I would love some help but I am preerared to go solo.
Any better launch areas for working Perdido Pass?
Is Friday am going to be too big. calling for 1-2 feet but I have seen that increasing as the week progressed
