Default Recommendations in Walton County

Just moved to Freeport from Niceville. Used to frequent White point, Eglin area and hit the sound behind Broxons and Hurlburt Field in the Kayak.

Yes I know there is water all around me. I see a lot of guys cast netting for Mullet around Choctaw Beach area. I did put in at Point Washington last year and fished all they way down to almost the 331 bridge. Few small reds, cats and some largemouth bass (yes surprised me too). Without giving specific honey holes, any other areas to put in/try on this end? Looking for some grassy areas, oyster bars or other structure. Thanks

The estuary over there in the colder months are where the reds and trout go. Hogtown bayou can be productive too. The intracoastal canal from point Washington there all the way over to east bay at Panama city holds fish

I usually fish the south side of the bay, hogtown bayou is a good place to target. I put in and paddle across to the undevelope peninsula, there are multiple coves or recesses in it with grass flats. I've also put in at point washington and caught fish near the river mouth, there are many braided channels back there. This time of year you have to be out there super early before the heat turns the bit off
