Default Protofiino

Looking to launch near Portofino condos, any one find any natural bottom offshore? Planning to troll out a ways and hoping to find some spots for dropping down. Is it worth the trip out? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I like launching out of that area. Last time I was out of there I found a bottom spot and a FAD. Saw some mahi too. I'm not too sure about natural bottom but it gets pretty deep there. I was in 60+ feet of water when I found the bottom spot and was only about 2 miles offshore.

Thanks for the response. I have been out a little west of there and got a couple of Mahi last september, but nothing yet this year. Do you still kayak in this area? Would enjoy some company. I just upgraded to a 2015 Hobie outback and anxious to get offshore with it.

I know of a couple of coops out there. If you find them you are welcome to pull 1 or 2 fish off. But no more! My drone will be watching.
Flounderpounder and BoxoTrix like this.

I'm in the same boat, I just upgraded to a PA and have had it out once since acquiring it. I was planning on this weekend until the seas picked up.

Send me a PM next time you plan on going out and maybe we can meet up off of Portofino.
