Yes.... What's great about the yak is you can start out with the pompano and whiting inside the sandbars, then move out to the second bar and hunt for reds, then troll out with a cigsicle and target sailfish, kingfish, mahi and BFT, until you hit some structure where you can jig.

You'd be surprised at how many species you can target, if you are flexible with the tackle/gear you bring along.

You've caught the bug........funny 'cause I been there.

What so great about the kayak forum and community is the lack of jack-a$$es. Lots of sharing and caring.

Yeh.......this time of year its great. Fish are frisky. I think they are a lot more abundant now too.

You have to look for a deep cut along the beach inside the bar. I always thought is was easier to walk down the beach and cast into the darker water were the cut meets the shallow. Cover more gorund that way if all I was targeting was pompano. Works great with a buddy.....one cast while the other finds the next hole or drives jup to the next access.

It's awesome when the wind is going east/west. You can just drift along casting jigs and dragging bait. I haven't done it much, but it's a great way to chase pomps...till the spanish show up and take all your jigs! Not that you have to worry 'bout that right now.
