Default nearshore Sailfish rigging

I am down to two fish on my kayak bucket list and this spring will likely be my last shot at them before I move to Jax. (got my first kayak Mahi this last weekend!)

I am looking to specifically target sails in May. I saw two pods of them fishing off of pickens last October, one of which circled my yak but never ate the king rigs I was towing.

I am looking for bait and rigging suggestions. Also, depth/distance recommendations if anyone has them. I had planned to charter with JD7.62 but he quit doing charters :/

I assume it would be un-weighted large cigs or herring, heavy fluoro, large circle hooks. Do I need to upgrade from 20# mono?

I appreciate any input

Just FYI I just moved back from jax. It's got an awesome inshore fishery and the tarpon run in the summer is great! Also, your shot at sails is only a 3 hour drive down the coast where you can fish the gulf stream a mile off the beach. Wish I would have taken advantage of that while I was there. Just do some Google searches for dania beach kayak fishing.
