Default navarre on sunday

a friend and i went out on his neighbors Hobie tandem and were looking to catch some kings chicken dolphin and whatever. got in the water around 5 a.m. about 1/2 mile out there was some weeds but not big patches. we managed to catch some live cigar minnows and put those out. hooked into one king about 8 lbs and set him free the north wind took us out about four miles where we hooked another about 10 lbs i put him on the stringer and we trolled a rapala deeep diver back in and hooked into a twelve pounder he got a prime spot on the stringer also we made it in stocked on bait and got harrassed by a few bull sharks one of them being at least 8 ft. we hooked two and got towed around a bunch before breaking them off after all the sharks my live cigar gets nailed grab the rod and line is being smoked off then a five foot bull shark splashes on the surfce and i reel up the head of what was a 20lb king.:reallycrying there wer plenty of bonita but they woulnt bite. it was a preaty exciting day.

total tally

3 1/2 kings

2 hooked sharks

1 spanish

lots of cigar minnows

a few lady fish

Awesome report. Sounds like a great day of fishing. How can you tell if the bait fish schools are cigar minnows? Thanks

we were catching ours off the bottom in 15 to 35 ft of water they like to stay in the deeper colder water or in the shadow of the boat.
