I would agree with 7 strand. It's sometimes a pain to tie but I think it gives the bait a more natural swimming/dying motion

Towards the end of the summer last year I started using a heaving (50#) mono leader and didn't have any kings cut me off. the gap in their teeth is enough to avoid them biting through it. They have such amazing eye site and I had a very noticeable increase in runs when I switched. I did away with the stinger hook but missed a couple short strikes on the bait so I might rig 1 with it this year.

I've done an events with the HOW last fall and was very active with the how in ST. Pete Haven't look into there site for a while do to out of state issues. I'll looking in to rigging the leaders. probably knock out a couple different sizes.
