Has anybody done this tournament before that can give me some info about it? Was it fun? Are there meetings? Is it just biggest overall fish pictures in kayak or is there more to it?

I did it last year. First and last year for me. Each fish species of a min. siz is worth X amount of points and then there are trophy fish of most species that are worth X+Y amount of points. You pretty much catch any qualifying fish, take a pic and upload it. No meetings no weigh ins nothing.

You fish your rear end off, take pictures of fish that otherwise would normally be quickly released but instead you put them on a measuring board while they flop around like crazy putting tons of stress on the fish.

You do this for ten months for nothing more then internet bragging rights. Our team quit really trying by late August and still ended up in second though. If the tournament had real prizes and better monitoring (lots of of improperly measured fish are counted, same fish posted twice etc etc) itd be worth it I suppose.

Oh yeah, if you cant fish 3-5 days a week your team has no shot being in the top 5.

Yeah Jason is pretty much right on the money. It's a good way to keep up with your catches over the course of a year and to have a record of them from even years past but its a lot of extra pressure on the fish. It is a good way to become motivated to be a better fisherman though! I've become a much better trout fisherman because you only get points for 20" or bigger trout so instead of fishing for quantity you start going for quality

We're not real serious. Not trying to win or anything. Just having fun and having more motivation to go fishing and record our catches.

We're team "Filthy Oar". Looking for 2 more if anybody is interested.
