Default Hobie Oasis Tandam Kayak Stability

Hi, wondering if anyone out there has a tandam Oasis and can advise as to the stability in swells or rough water when two people are in it.

Thanks

What size are the two people? Just looking at the stats for the boat, it's weight capacity is 550. No matter the boat, if you come close to that number, it's going to be much less stable. Having said that, it's length/width/capacity is high compared to others, which should lend to good stability.

400 lbs between the 2 of us. My son is 6'3'. Hoping to hear from someone who actually is using one in this way. Thanks.

I can answer this one personally. my husband and I have one and we have been in nearly all types of conditions, gulf excluded. I'll tell you honestly, it has great stability! I have next to zero personal balance, but my husband stands all the time to fish from it. We've been in calm, rough, 3+ ft chop, boat traffic, etc. Haven't been in the gulf yet, but that will be coming soon. If you do buy one, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Thanks, thats good to hear. I have owned mine for a while now. I have only fished in the local lakes around N. Georgia. Have not had this one in the ocean before. I have been very happy with it up to now. Wind, wakes, chop, not an issue. At this point we will take the big jump and do some offshore fishing, as well as bay fishing in Pensacola next month. Just hoping to get some insight from someone pushing a fair load out in the chop/swells. I don't plan going out if its questionable. At least not with all my gear

Thanks

Heck yea! We have a couple of videos, one us in a 2-3ft chop and still quite balanced. We have an older model, and they've only gotten better with age. If you come to Pensacola, we should have a tandem get together..haha
