Default Help with Choctaw bay

So I'm down here with one of my buddies who's leaving for Europe pretty soon and we were hoping to do some fishing offshore until Wed. but the conditions have been horrible and it doesn't look like it will get any better.

Rather than having him waste the money he spent renting a kayak, I figure we might as well try the bay. The 3 or 4 times I've tried fishing there in the past I haven't caught crap. I've tried Pt. washington, the 331 bridge, and the creek mouths on the east end and just can't seem to figure it out. If someone would be willing to take us out between now and wednesday afternoon and show us the ropes or even just give some advice I'd really appreciate it.

Right now I'd definitely focus my efforts on the west end of the bay. Too much fresh water on the east end usually pushes a lot of the fish out of that area.

I think we're gonna try and fish near the mid bay bridge in the evening. Do you know any good places to launch around there?

I also fish the Maxwell Gunter area near the Mid Bay bridge.Launch out then head right opposite the bridge and go down about 1/2 mile.there's an inlet there called grassy lake and it always produces reds and specks for me.Best bait I used are the mirrorlure with 1/8 oz jig head and also live shrimp on a popping cork.

Went to some grass flats one of my friends told me about earlier this evening. Probably saw 20+ tailing reds but couldn't get one on the hook. Live shrimp under a cork, vudu shrimp, gold spoon, topwater...nothing. These ones in the surf made up for it
