Default Flag Pole

I like my new visibility flag. The yakattack one seemed too expensive at $85, but I guess I spent a good amount on mine. $0.40 worth of PVC thin wall, half of a $14 pack of reflective tape, an $8 flag from West Marine, and an old 360 degree light that's removable. I cut off the butt of an old rod and shimmed it to the bottom so it would fit in a rod holder. It seems pretty sturdy and light. Not too junky hopefully. I also sprayed it with black primer to cover up the PVC. So $20ish plus labor.

Thanks dude. It's a West Marine boat light that takes 4 AAs. It's really too heavy, so I'm keeping an eye out for a smaller one. It has a screw mount on the bottom that connects to a post. I just drilled a hole through the PVC to connect it.

Ahh, nice. Thanks for the idea man, I'll definately build a variation of it. I saw a video of a guy that got a cheap led light from home depot type store, and used a 360 degree night light cover epoxied to the top of the light, and stuffed it in the end of PVC pole. Used duct tape to fill the void between the light circumference and the inner wall of the PVC. I think I might try something like that combined with your flag pole. Thanks again though, it looks damn good!

That's a good idea. I was thinking about making a flag myself. It looks good.
