Default Fishing Tuesday 10/8

Hi folks,
I'm in south Alabama visiting my family this week and I only have tomorrow to fish. I know the weather the past few days has been terrible but I still have not had my PA in salt yet and I would really love to do so. I wanted to see if anybody could give me some advice as to whether or not this weather over the past several days would still have the water too messed up to fish in one of the bays. If so I can just stay and fish my hometown lake for crappie, but I sure would like to hit some saltwater. (really wanted to take it out in the gulf but I'm sure that's a no-go). Fishing somewhere in Navarre, Destin or Pensacola would be the most convenient for me. Whadda ya'll think?

The surf is flat today and will be tomorrow as well with the North wind.

It's pretty darn windy out there so probably not the best day even in the bay, tomorrow should be better.

I'll be heading out tomorrow for the Gulf or Santa Rosa sound depending on how brezzy it is out there. Send me a PM if you would like to come along.

Surf is low right now and the winds are high and out of the north, hopefully the wind will die down tomorrow. Water is cold everywhere so bring a wetsuit if you have one.

Thanks for all the responses folks and thanks for the invite Loruna. I actually have to fish the bay if I go because a) I only have two inshore light tackle rods/1 flyrod and b) I don't have a beach cart for my PA. (total newbie for the salt thing!) I think I'm gonna stick to fishing one of the bays since I've never been salt water kayak fishing before and that might be my safest bet. Not looking for anyone's honey holes but could anyone recommend a good launch (safe area) or decent place to fish? My yak is on a trailer

Shoreline park is about the easiest/safest place to launch in my opinion. Grass flats on either side of the launch

Shoreline is easy about 20' from parking to the water and the sound is usually less rough than the Bay. Another option is Quietwater launch on Pensacola Beach which has a sand launch you can drop your kayak off then go park. If the wind is still blowing from the north I usually head to Quietwater, then I'll have the wind at my back when coming in. It's also quicker paddling out to Sikes bridge.

Wind is supposed to be 5-10 N tomorrow so Shoreline would be a good place. Not sure if the water is going to be cleaned up much by then but who knows. It's a good place to fish

You can launch at the mouth of Weeks Bay at Pelican Point, south of Fairhope. You'll have an outgoing tide early AM which is a good time for large redfish. I'll be out there in a yellow Hobie early AM. I'll probably fish from about 4am until 8ish. Have landed 10 large redfish (25-33", 8-13lbs) in the past 3 weeks in these conditions. Also 2 large black drums between 20-30lbs which are a hoot to fight and land (then release) from a kayak.
