Default Fish Finder Question

What's up everyone,

Starting to buy bits and pieces of equipment for the Ascend I am getting in May. I Just picked up a Hummingbird Wide 128 FishFinder off of Ebay for $30. Its unit and power cord only and no transducer. The called for transducer is XHS-6-24, all I can find are the transom mount versions. Will this unit be strong enough to shoot through the hull or am I going to have to jerry rig a transom mount?

It will shoot through. By the nature of sonar it has to be in contact completely with a liquid OR a solid to work properly.

On a similar note, can you load numbers into the Navionics app?

I cannot find this model transducer they all come up as discontinued. Does it HAVE to be this model transducer or can it vary?
