Default Fish Finder

What is everyone’s recommendation for a solid fish finder and what features are key to a good unit?

I have a Garmin chirp 44 and I love it. It has down scan imaging and gps and chart plotter. It displays in color and shows the date the time the coordinates the speed the water temp and direction. I picked it up at west marine for $199!!! Easy to install and works like a charm. I had a humminbird 385ci and loved it too. Just make sure u get down scan or side scan and internal gps and one that displays speed if u get one with these features the price and brand really isn’t going to matter much cause they all pretty much do the same thing

I have a Garmin Striker IV and like it. I dont need lots of bells or whistles or a huge screen. Just a GPS, ability to mark waypoints, and fish finder. Its does all of this (and more) and is on sale at Wal Mart for $99 right now.

I dont specifically remember but I got a battery from some battery store for about $35 and it will last about 10 hours. ITs not lithium ion so its not tiny and light but it work fine. I put it in a cheap drybox and drilled holes for the wires to pass through. Works great and one day will allow me to add lights and usb charger if I want.

I recently picked this battery up for my setup and love it. Use it all weekend on a charge. Pretty light as well.
