Default Farmer John wetsuit bottoms?

OK, its getting pretty chilly in the water these days, been checking out what to do to launch and recover as well as emergency stuff (ie, I don't relish being in a pair of waders floating in 65 degree water vs a wet suit)

Seems the best deal is a Farmer John type outfit, keeps you warm while wading and still will help if you were to roll the kayak, of course with PFD, but gives you some flexibility to add sweaters and jackets up top that you can layer and remove as need be

Anyone use that sort of outfit for winter / cold weather trips in the kayak? If not, what do you use? Thanks in advance

From now on untill around the last of April you will be well advised to get a complete farmer john outfit. If you aren't diving a 3 mill suit will keep you warm on the surface all winter. A farmer Johne in my opinion is better than a one piece suit because the water sometimes will get into a one piece suit and not in a farmer johnAND you will have 6 mills on your upper torso,

I have worn a farmer john for years. Make sure you have something over them because wind tends to cut thru a dry wetsuit.

anyone have suggestions on which manufacturers or makers are good ones? I've seen some in the $75 range but don't know if that is good / bad / ugly. What should I expect to pay for a good set, and where do you order from / buy?

i cant say which outfit to wear. but i can suggest some awesome booties. picked them up the other day for 60 bucks. there light weight ,water proof and comfortable.

they're made by Body Glove and They're called VAPOR. go check them out. go to a surf shop. got mine at Waterboyz in p-cola.
