Default Eglin flats - 18th

Was on the water by 06:15 - water was calm and the fish were biteing. Ended up with 20 trout - kept 2 for dinner (18" & 19.5"). Couple of cat fish and lady fish...Caught the bigger trout on a gold spoon and the smaller ones on DOA's (pink w/green and rootbeer)

Sounds fun! Was that in the morning or afternoon? I've been wanting to try fishing over there from the kayak.

It was a morning trip - on the water at 6:15 or so, and out by 1030-1100. Caught fish the whole time...alot of small trout. Saw several reds tailing but could not get them to hit on anything.

Nice to know.. For those tailing reds I've found it's better if you don't work your lure as much... Put the lure in his path and let the red find your lure.
