Default Circumnavigating Perdido Key

Been wanting to do this since the day I got the Yak ... have been planning it for almost a month now , but the weather the last 2 weeks hasn't been too conducive for a Sunrise launch :banghead ... most likely next Tuesday will be the day if anyone would like to join , or if you'll be out on the water that day , maybe we'll run into each other out there along my route (NOT literally) ... it's around a 30 mile loop , and I've estimated about 6 hours minimum or so ... starting AT the State line in Ole River heading East , rounding the corner at Ft. McCrae , then going West in the Gulf to Perdido Pass and entering / finishing in Ole River again :hotsun ... will Chronicle with pics and video , and may pull some Stretches while I'm IN the Gulf for some Bulls ... this IS going to happen , so lmk if anyone would like to do it or see me along the route :letsparty

Sounds fun, I think we have all been cooped up to long, I have been thinking of some kayak trip myself. I was thinking of Pensacola Pass to Destin Pass, thats 50 miles, so I nice camp would be in order.

Sounds like a cool trip. You will be covering some great fishing areas. Thirty miles is a long haul. I think my max miles in a day has been in the teens but it was all trolling. Have you checked the tides to see if the trip east will be against or with? Looks like low tide is @ 10 AM. If you make it to the pass before the low tide you should be able to ride it out into the Gulf. I've never yaked the Fl/Al Pass but at times it can very rough. Can't make it next week but if you repeat down the roadI might join you..... for part of the way

^^ Yes it loos like I'll time it just right ... launching at first light so I'll be through the Pass prior to Low Tide , which should aid in my getting out into the Gulf ... light E/SE winds that day so heading West to Perdido Pass in the Gulf should be no problem ... entering Perdido Pass later in the day with an incoming tide will make it easier too , and my final destination is less than a mile from that Pass :hotsun

There's lots of ways to describe your planned trip but easy AIN't one of them! Is FlorBama sponsoring you?
