Same company sells solid fiberglass rods and they're pretty cheap. I've made three, 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4". I like the 5/8" best for kayak anchoring/poling.

I bought two of those a couple months ago. Great quality! Advice- if you buy one might as well buy 2. Shipping will be the same.

Yak do you just use a solid core pole and sharpen the end? Do you put some sort of metal on the end?

Yes, I used solid rod and I sharpened the end by dragging it around on the driveway. Works well...

how long have you used the pole? it has not been beat up on the bottom?

Here is what I bought. You can buy the T end and the sharp tip for cheap and then attach to the rod with 2 part epoxy or what ever they recommend.

I've been using the oldest one for about two years. Still in good shape.

What length is your anchor pole? I got eight feet. I did not think it would be that often to nerd more than that.
