Default Busy Weekend Getting Ready.

It was a busy weekend. No time to get on the water. I had to get ready for a tournament next weekend. My first.
I did manage to:

-- Built Anchor Pole.
-- Installed new running lights on kayak trailer.
-- Cleaned out truck!!! Holy crap at all the stuff in the camper shell.
--Built new rod holder tubes for my seat. I removed them years ago because I dont usually carry that many rods.
-- Sorted which rods that I will take.
-- Sorted lures
-- Trip to Bass Pro to replace go-to lures that have been lost or damaged.
-- Sorted lures again... How in the hell am I going to get all of this onto a kayak!!!
-- Painted lines on Hawg Trough. Had to buy one for this event.
-- Installed Yak Attack Anchor Trolley to replace the corroded DIY one that I have been using for 8 years.
-- Pulled the nice fishfinder off the boat and installed on kayak. The one on the yak was a crusty old Eagle that I paid $30 for about 10 years ago. LOL
--Built new base/battery holder and painted it to match kayak.

All the while, my wife just watched me go back and forth... back and forth... Oh and it's her birthday. And she's sick. So I had to do some caring for her... She is a patient and tolerant woman! LOL Thanks Hun!

Still have to:
-- Make a drag anchor. Wife lost her kayak anchor 2 weeks ago and then she lost mine last week.
-- Mount transducer. Needed some small screws to mount it to my DIY scupper mount. I'll get them at work tomorrow.
-- Once transducer mounted, fish finder wiring can be neatened and tucked.
-- Gotta buy some 15lb Flouro and put new leaders on rods. Been using current ones for a while and they are short and abraded.
-- Probably gonna sort tackle at least once more. LOL I GOTTA thin this out a little !

I've reduced all of my tackle to three 3600 series Plano boxes.

One with spook and spook jr's, one with Mirrodines, and one with 1/8 oz and 1/4 oz jig heads and DOL CAL shads and Mirrolure Provokers.

If I'm on the kayak, then I have a one gallon Ziplock bag full of more soft plastics and "spares" that I put in the storage hatch of the PA. I don't bring any of that on the paddle board.

All of the tools fit into the side pockets and leader material is on the legs of the seat.

Less is more.

Unfortunately. I dont have a lot storage on my yak. I paddle an old style OK Prowler 13. I'm looking to upgrade this winter/spring.

I did upgrade my seat to one that holds two little palm sized tackle boxes next to your hips and has a place on the back for two 3600 and one 3500 sized box. But the problem is that you cant reach them very well. It's easier to have a tackle bag behind the seat.

I've got it down to:
Regular 3600 for Redfish Majics
Regular 3600 for soft fluke jerkbaits
Thin 3600 for diving hardbaits
Thin 3600 for topwater hardbaits
And the palm sized cases have heads and bodies for three diff jig type lures

Then I have a box that you can put something about the size of a paperback novel in that is full of plastics

It's not all THAT much stuff. I just have no good place to put it. Time for a new kayak! LOL
