I bought a cheap orange dry box from west marine to house the battery and drilled holes for wires, then sealed the holes with silicon. I dont like the connectors I used, they are similar to what you would find on a truck trailer electrical mount. Besides that it works great. I still need to glue down some straps to hold down the batter box so it doesn't bang around if I roll (it is inside my yak).

Mine is a Wal-Mart $4.88 special. I put a dual USB port in it and wired it so I could plug my fisfinder and charger in the same plug. When it's not hooked up, the fish finder, power chord and charger all fit in the box.

I made this a few years ago for my 30gal live well for the pier it ran a 800GPH rule pump for 5 hours off a basic lawn mower battery. I put some lights in it so i could see when we were able to have a night owl pass at pickens.
