Default Anybody going out tomorrow?

Just thought I'd ask. Looks like it might be a nice day in the gulf. I may try to find the 3 barges tomorrow and see if anybody wanted to meet up. I won't be able to get out till around 9 a.m. I will probably be launching from chicken bone in a black pickup and the red perception. Can't miss it

How much further is it to the barges from chicken bone then the first lot in Pickens? I am going to try and hit the Gulf tomorrow if the boss at home let's me.

Good question. I have never been out there. This is my first year with a bigger kayak and a fish finder so I want to try to find some bottom spots this year. I don't even really know what I'm doing but Im going to give it a try . Plus I think it would be really cool to meet some people on here that know what the hell they're doing

I pulled up my Google Earth and its about a mile further to launch from Chickenbone beach then Pickens. That is a lot of extra paddling, I would go to Pickens if I were you. Also check out the Mayor Lane and Navarre Pier Rubble while you are there. You may get on some flounder if you fish them right.

10-4. All I have for GPS is my phone so I'm going to give it a shot. I will try to get out there and get some bait and then hit that stuff. Hopefully the water is too warm for the makos. I have gone off shore before I just usually fish for Kings and Spanish. Anything on a fast moving white jig or trolling a frozen cig.

Bait isnt thick out there right now. There is SOME but really, IMO, not worth the effort to try and catch so make sure you bring some frozen bait. There are plenty of BSB on the Mayor Lane and Navarre Pier Rubble, at least they were when I fished them last year. A Carolina rig with a one to two ounce weight and a size one circle hook is your friend. Use frozen stuff then once you catch a pig fish or something use them for cut bait as they stay on better because there are lots of little triggers that will steal your bait. Drop strip baits on the bottom for flounder. Good luck, if I had more time I would go because Ive been wanting to get on some BSB all year.

Thanks for the info JD. I'm definitely going to give it a shot. I have yet to catch a flounder so that's what I've been trying to do all last year. Would love to catch 1 this year. Hell I'd be happy with some trigger I've never got any of those either.. Like I said I haven't done much bottom fishin from my yak. If you find you have more time I'll be out there around 9.
