Im looking to go to Yellow River to hog hunt. Can anyone tell me what is it like there? Swampy, thick, hard to get through? Any hogs out there?

thanks.

I got in there last year and could hear them oinking, but it not like Wisconsin words thats for sure .. No game trails to follow, tons of snakes.. and crazy swampy. I just couldn't getthre the swamp on foot to get to them .. There my be other trails I don't know about. but that's my experience.

You didn't say where you are launching, but in my opinion you are wasting your time. Too much water. You would have a better chance hunting the woods along the river that you can access from a road. It will be a while before the game returns to the swamp along the river.

I walked the north yellow wma before the last rain and there were hardly any tracks. My camera also showed nothing since the rain began a few weeks ago. Sucks to because I spent a lot of time scouting and prepping some spots and have gotten to hunt each spot once and now bow season is almost over.
