Default Skull mount of my biggest one out of Blackwater

I've been reading about all the big deer that people have been killing in Blackwater. They're nice, but they're not as big as the one I got last year.

The story behind it. I took my .22 Magnum (anything more is overkill) and drove into the woods in my Toyota Prius. I drove around until I spotted a old Ford truck with Duck Dynasty and Salt Life Sucks decals on the back. I figured whoever drove that probably knew what he was doing.

I rolled down the windows of my Prius so my poodle could get some air. I knew I'd need her later for tracking whatever I shot. She didn't like that and she barked for at least an hour straight. It didn't bother me because I'm used to it, but it must have bothered the guy in the Ford, who I assume is a cat person. I heard him crashing through the woods, slam the door of his truck and crank it up. I guess he was going fishing because I heard him yell something that sounded like "Bass Hole!"

So, after the woods quieted down I started grunting. Fortunately I had some toilet paper with me which definitely came in handy. Once I finished grunting and wiping - I walked to the other side of the road to get away from the aroma.

I sat on my Yeti cooler which I put up against a palmetto bush and started looking. Fifteen minutes later, this guy came out at about 395 yards. I saw the sun gleaming on his horns and knew he was a shooter. I put the crosshairs on him and squeezed the trigger of my .22 Magnum. It kicked and bruised my shoulder, but I've heard that magnums do that.

I loaded him onto my Prius and called it a day.

I have to call BS. I have never seen the palmated characteristic of antler in BW. If I haven't seen it, it obviously does not exist. No, definitely not a BW deer.

Yeah, I probably should have addressed that. I think the shock of the bullet impact caused that. He wasn't palmated until he got smacked with the .22 Magnum.

22 mag was overkill......I think a pocket knife would have made ya a real man! Especially driving a fine piece of machinery like a prius!!!

Not surprised. With the new antler size restrictions we should see a lot of those in the next few years

That buck is clearly a mule deer and not a whitetail. No way this could be a buck from BW. I gotta call BS also.

Needing their ever-increasing supply of bananas, the trained monkeys will continue to dance for their bananas.

Correct me please if I am wrong, but isn't it illegal to take a deer with a rimfire rifle ?
