Default Safety harnesses.

Can not express enough how crucial it is to have a harness on when climbing. Been guilty of not wearing one in the past. Need to wear it while climbing up and coming down, take that extra 2 minutes and stay tethered at all times. All it takes is one mishap and it could change you and your families lives forever.

This fella fell a couple weeks back where I hunt at a majority of the time. I dont know him personally but have seen him occasionally.

Man that sucks. Can't express the need for life-line ropes and climbing ropes on all stands, even those 12ft ladder stands.

Sucks for sure. When you sent me the message that he had fallen I didn’t connect the name but I do know him. Love just down the road from me and in the Mardi Gras Krewe and all that. He’s still in bad shape but has improved a lot and there is high hope for the future

I did a public service announcement just before season on our emergency management webpage about the importance of gun and tree stand safety and hoped folks would watch and learn.

I never wore a harness or safety strap in my youth but with age you learn.

Every time I read about these falls I still can’t believe people don’t wear harnesses. Especially with kids and no insurance. I feel for his family. Just unreal. My feet don’t leave the ground without one on.

Our neighbor fell last year. We heard the sirens go by our place and found out later who/where they went. Unfortunately he didn't survive his fall. Everyone needs to double check all ladder stands every year and wear a harness especially in a climber.
