Default Peak turkey hunting time

When do the turkeys get into full swing up around Georgiana Al. Want to know so i can plan my vacation for my best chance. And what type of calls, box, slate, or mouth do you like to use.

First week of season was always best when I hunted up there. Get after them before they get "henned" up!!

The old timers will tell you when the Dog Woods are in full bloom......Use whatever call you know how to use.

I have land on 106 about 20 miles from there. I watched 3 strutting last week. This crazy weather will dictate alot, but they have started. This cooler weather will help make the season last. When it warms up too early they'll gobble out too soon. I'll have my nephew and my neighbors kid out Saturday so well see what's up.

It really depends on the temperatures if we have a early spring then they will be more receptive early to calling, but if we have a late spring then they end up being with the hens the whole time. But I've had the greatest success hitting those henned up birds around 1030-1100 after they have finished their business with the girls.

Not sure how it is in Alabama but I've been hearing birds gobble since December down here in Bay County and our season doesn't start for another 2 weeks. I've never been more pumped for turkey season to get here. I've got three nice birds that have been showing up in my food plots for most of the deer season....one I've nicknamed "Ron Jeremy"....LOL!!

I am a rookie turkey hunter. Killed a few birds by accident , but have a lot to learn. I can use a box call ok, but don't have the mouth call down too good yet. So so on the slate call. My club has 900 or so ac that i seen lots of turkeys doing deer season. Our land don't get hunted very much, except for the poachers now and then, and was wondering if any of you PFF could give me some tips and maybe get up a trip with me. Will sees turkeys no question, and would really like to learn to hunt them from some of you pros.
