I'm done for awhile also. I've gotta head across the pond for awhile to do some work. Be back shortly. Glad I was able to get out there. Wish my son would have got one though. Will be back at it in a couple weeks is the plan. Congrats on all the meat down this weekend and good luck to everyone.

Saw one nanny at 75yds this morning, a few dozen tree rats and another nanny some guy hit on Deaton Bridge Road. Slow day, but it sure was nice to be in a tree!

I had a 4 point walk under my tree that i could have melted down... also had a doe and spotted fawn walk under my tree... and had one more doe get within 10 steps directly behind me and she just didn't want to play my game...

Now I know where you were when I went to the shop yesterday. Looking forward to putting that harness to use in a couple weeks to get me a hog or deer. First slab of meat I see and get a decent shot on I'm going for it.

Looks like that crossbow produced quite an exit wound.

Definately did Rick. I was surprised. I just got back into town last week and my wife and son surprised me with it. I haven't bow hunted but I have been setting in the stand with my son who has gotten very good with a bow. I mentioned I would like to get a crossbow so I could hunt the entire season instead of only gun. They got me an Excalibur and it is amazing. I sighted it in the other day out to 50 yards and it was dead on bullseye. Amazing how accurate these things are. I love it. First time hunting with it. I'm hooked. It was a mechanical Rage broad head. It did some damage. Plenty of blood trail to trail.

Swung... on a nice BIG nanny and a thwack i though for sure she was down, it felt good. But I didn't hear her pile up so I went to check after a short wait. Decent trail then nothing, nada zilch!!! She did the tuck and roll i must have hit her a bit high. Nothing a cold beer and another sit won't heal, just hate leavin'em..
