Default New rifle in the works

Well ladies and gents it looks like I will finally have my 338 federal built. I have had this action and barrel sitting around the house far too long. But my wonder lady told me she will send it off to the gunsmith while I am gone. This should be a nice deer and hog thumper for the upcoming season. But the build is as follows:
  • Cartridge: 338 Federal (338-08) hopefully I will be able to push some 200 grain Federal Fusions, 200 grain Speer Hot Cors, or 200 grain Hornady Interlocks at 2600-2650 fps.
  • Action: Howa 1500 SA cerakoted to a gloss black
  • Barrel: Krieger with 5r rifling cut to 22” and contour is a #2 standard sporter with a 1 in 10 twist.
  • Stock: McMillan Hunter in McWoody or McWalnut color
  • Scope: Meopta Meopro 3-9X40
  • Mounts: DNZ Game Reapers
First picture is the Mcwoody color and the second picture is the McWalnut color.

No reason to put a brake on it. It's just a 308 Winchester resized to take a .33 caliber bullet vs a .30 caliber. Recoil is on par with a 30-06.
