If an arrow misses the head, how does the deer get injured? Does the deer run into the arrow that's stuck into the grown and pick it up to stab itself?

Because it's not about just hitting the head. It's about hitting the brain and the brain is a very small target that is constantly moving. If you don't center punch the brain the deer runs off with an arrow sticking out the top of its head, side of its head, out its nose, through its jaw, etc... etc... and then slowly dies an agonizing death while it starves to death or dies from massive infections.

We all know shit happens when everything lines up perfect while we are hunting but for a person to purposely take a shot at a deer's head is just plain stupid and irresponsible and perfectly illustrates the worst of the hunting community as far as I'm concerned.

Here you go. This is what happens and what other people see when you miss by just a tiny little bit.

Here's a great video to show your buddies how wonderful head shots can be. Even with a rifle up close.

Excuse my typos, im laughing too hard.

Generally when you "miss" a target, you don't hit it, hence the definition of "miss." I was referring to not hitting the deer at all. The arrow flying past the head. A total miss. A flee-ing deer. Better?

I know what happens when you dont hit the brain, there's a 100, maybe a 1000 deer with wounds to the head. I've seen the photos.

I congratulate you for posting some of the top Google posts though.

And I am glad to hear your opinion, if we weren't all different the world would be pretty boring.

You speak with forked tongue.

Now you talk about missing all together but in your post here you talk about missing but still hitting the guts, legs, neck and the deer could suffer. Which is it?

If he were to miss at a chest shot you could hit guts, legs, or partial neck. And the deer could suffer for the next hour?

If your not good enough to make a head shot, that's 3" grouping give or take. You need to keep practicing.

No sense in arguing with him big Bulls, If he can't look through those pics and understand that it is inexcusable to take a head shot with a bow, then there's no hope for him. :

Bored at work, guess I'll throw my .02 in there, I think head shots with a bow are insane. I've shot a few deer with a bow, and have shot deer in the azz, the neck, the head, the leg and in the guts by accident, not because that's where I was aiming, but because I've had them jump, whirl, duck and do whatever they want, whenever they want, and can do it it as soon as you let an arrow loose. Ive hunted and shot 3D with a few on here, and they can attest that i am fairly proficient with a bow.

To me, I respect the animal enough that I'm going to try and make as humane as a shot as possible, and hope for death asap. It doesn't always work out like that, but I feel I do my part to make it happen that way.

But, if you are comfortable making bow head shots, go right ahead, but you aren't going to convince many on here that it's very ethical.

Look at the context.

If you miss the head, you miss the deer. (Although could hit the neck)

If you miss the chest, you could hit any other part of that area. (Ribs, back, etc...) there's just "More Deer" there.
