I was looking for a great opening weekend,we had 7 stands in about a square mile. Today they started logging on the whole dang area. Oh well it is what it is,adapt and overcome. We will see what happens.

Don't let this scare you off - logging operations don't always scare deer away. I've actually seen deer while watching trees fall. Chainsaws, skitters and log trucks are sounds they are familiar with, and don't associate with danger. Find a thicket just outside of the immediate logging area and set up - curiosity also killed the deer....good luck!

that def aint gonna hurt anything. know several guys that keep their rifle in the truck when they working and then sit on the skidder till dark using it as their shooting house and they kill big bucks every year. They see deer cruising around the edges of where they are working every day and the deer seem to love to come investigate the new cuts and eat on the tree tops for some reason.

Hunt starts tomorrow. We scouted all over the place today. Found some really good sign. Lots of oaks dropping here... we’re getting after it early in the morning. Got a few good spots set up, lots of rubs around and most of the woods look like they’re getting a lot of traffic at em. Hopefully I’ll have a kill report early!
