Default Guam Hog Pipe

This is about 2.5 years late, however I still wanted to share.

I was stationed in Guam and got in pretty good with the locals on the south of the island where the vegetation is pretty thick. I wanted to get a hog out there soon bad and eventually got permission to hunt on some land. After a few trips of sneaking through the dense jungle for hours and not seeing ANYTHING and getting tore up by skeeters, I figured I had to do something different.

So, I bought a trail cam and made a hog feeding tube. Here's a few pics:

I wanted to post more pics... in about a week they had that whole area destroyed. Ran that tube in circles till the ground was a mud pit. Don't know if you can tell, but i put a little bell on the end of the tube. Never got to test this tactic out, but the intent was they would obviously ring the bell as they were feeding and would associate the bell with the feeder. I would then bring a similar bell with me to ring once i got up in my stand....

Yea, thanks. That rig is pretty easy to make too. I've sense then left Guam, so I'll forever live with the disappointment of not getting one. I plan on finding some hog hunting land here in FL though and setting up the same deal. I'll have a whole lot more time to put into it soon.

So splain this hog pipe thing. Looks like 1 end stuck on rebar, via chain. Full of corn? Hogs roll it around to get the corn through 1/2" holes I guess?

At one of our places we have pigs. If we put 6 of these out we could listen for the bells and know where the hogs are. Then swoop down on them and massacre a few.

Thats about it man... I used cracked corn soaked in a molasses mix. let it soak for a few days to get a little ripe. I believe i used 3/8" holes and placed 4 of them 90deg off of each other all the way down the pipe. Put a spin shackle on the lid (top) and chained that to a steel rod. On the other end i used an old fishing bell but for your mentioned purpose i guess i would go a little bigger.

And yes, I have HOURS of video of them rolling that pipe in circles. Put a decent size bell on there, and once they get use to the sound they'll be making a bunch of racket.
