Default Fun Hunt

I hunted last weekend starting Friday afternoon. I ended up going to the property alone around 2:30 on Friday due to my hunting buddy running a little behind. Everything was nice and wet so there were no tracks on the main dirt road going in, the other benefit is it made me walking extremely quite. we have 3 main plots down that road and I was thinking about walking to the 3rd one due to it being our biggest plot with most activity. The wind was bad for it that day so I stopped and walked into what we call # 2. Walking in I can see downhill and see movement on the plot, I was able to get close enough to see him through my scope and noticed it was a little 4 point buck. I watched him for a while hoping something to shoot would come out with him. I wanted some meat in fridge since I haven't shot anything this year. He eventually walked off the plot and I climbed into tripod. I decided to come down a little before dark and was going to head up to truck. On way back I noticed fresh tracks going right towards our plot #1. It was getting dark but I decided to walk down there and see if I was able to walk in on some more. Lucky enough I see a doe on the plot, I sneak up to get close enough to shoot and check to make sure it wasn't a spike and I get spooked by a buck to her right. He sees my movement and eases off of plot, it was to dark for me to see anything but his head and I couldn't really tell how many points he was. I ended up getting in position and I was able to get a shot off on the doe. I was pumped, I couldn't believe I was able to walk right in on 3 deer that afternoon and actually come away with one. I brought my brother out Saturday morning and had no luck, his son is 11 years old and is trying to understand concept of being still. Sunday morning I sat in a shooting house with them and we were able to get a few does to come out and at least let them feel what its like to have that excitement of deer coming out. Great weekend.

Yes you can post from a phone without the app. Just click on manage attachments and load it up.

That's the best part of hunting after dark, you hit them with that light and the just stand there!
