Default First time ever seeing a FWC officer

We met on a dirt road up in Escambia WMA as I was changing locations. He only did a quick license check. Very nice guy. He gave me a stack of his business cards. I can PM his number if anyone needs it. He said call anytime for reporting a violation.
Anyhow, I tried Escambia and Yellow river. Super skunked. I saw lots of deer tracks, and drowned a few worms in between hunting.

Good to hear. I can honestly can say I have never really ran into a dick head fwc officer and have been checked a few times in Blackwater. I did have one give me crap back in high school for leaving the stand early lol

Heck I even have one point me to a section of land where I ended up harvesting a buck that year.

sounds like the guy who taught part of my hunters safety course. Seemed like a nice dude. Had plenty of stories about catching idiots poaching on Escambia. Also gave out his card and told everyone how you could get cash for reporting poachers

I can only remember ever being checked once while hunting.
About 35 years ago I was hunting opening day of dove season at the fields in the field trial area of Blackwater.
The officer checked my license and we were having a nice conversation when a hunter across the way shot 4 times.
He said “Good talking with you. Gotta go.”

When I hunted WMA I was checked often. Was also checked while hunting dove clubs.
Have never, other than dove, been checked in any of the hunting clubs I have belonged.
While fishing on the Florida Fisherman ll, 100 miles NW of Madeira Beach, Florida, we were checked one time by he FWC. They were very interested in our record keeping system.

Every single time the FWC officers have been polite, helpful, and extremely professional.
