Default Finally got one

Been a year of almosts and not big enoughs. Tonight I walked into a place I’ve never seen, got up a tree at 3 and shot this guy at 5. I’m thrilled.

Yessir, very nice. Too bad you had to wait two hours, but it was worth it.

Nice buck! What's the story!? Chasing? Cruising? Feeding?

I didn't want to get out of bed this morning...again. I've come to terms with the fact that when my son heads off to college next year, I'm never going to hunt mornings again. Anyhow, at 2:30 I got to a spot a friend kind of told me about. He said to park and walk in...so I did. It looked good so I was hopeful. Climbed up and got settled by 3. About 400 yards off the road. At 5 I hear some twigs break to my left and see horns moving. Got my gun up and poked it towards a hole in the thick stuff where he was traveling. He stepped into the hole at 75 yards and I pulled the trigger. He dropped. I climbed down and went for my sled. No chasing, no stinking. He was just walking casually smelling stuff.
