Default Eglin doe

Got this doe at 5 this evening on Eglin. First time putting a deer in the new cooler. I hated keeping up with ice and draining water out of the ice chest.

Congrats on the deer. I keep mine on ice for 7-10 days, it is a pain sometimes especially if it's hot weather. Thinking of converting stand-up freezer to one. What temp do you keep your cooler at? That cooler looks like a better way over ice.

Congrats! I used to love bow hunting on Eglin, but the old shoulders cant do it anymore.
Tell us about your cooler please.

The cooler is just an old upright freezer. Freezer is set to coldest setting with defroster disconnected. Freezer is then plugged into the thermostat that I have pictured. The thermometer Is so You can check max and minimum temps. With defrost disconnected freezer takes about 3 weeks for coils to ice over. It will hold temp within a few degrees the entire time. With defrost connected the temp gets to 58-60 for about an hour every 12 hours. After the hunting season I reconnect the defroster and plug straight into the wall outlet and use as a regular freezer.

Congrats on the Nannie! I really like your converted freezer set up. Going to convert mine after seeing yours. Thanks for the info on how to!
