Default Doubled Up with My Son-in-Law

Headed up to camp in Butler county this morning to hunt the day. We went to an area that was still super wet from the rains(other guys thought it would be too wet). Quiet morning for me seeing a doe early and a button around 0830. At 1000, I am dozing in the treestand and get the “brrrrrr” wake up. Open my eyes and a doe is crossing through at around 80-90 yrds, look behind her and he is coming. I line up on an opening and DRT him.
SIL asked for 45 minutes because I will screw up his sit getting my atv. He finally txts saying he is climbing down... about 30 seconds later, paKOW. His gun was hooked up to lower when the doe popped out and an 8 was trying, and failing, to jump on.
I shot a 308 with 178gr eld-x. SIL throat punched (DRT) his with a 7mm-08 and 140 grain Vital Shok Nosler Ballistic. Just an awesome day.

That's a story that will be told and retold for years to come. Congratulations to you and your son in law.

Good moment when you see the doe and a set of antlers trailing behind her. Nice bucks! Good story

Nice bucks and cool story! I hunted Butler Co. yesterday morning and Friday. It's wide open. Saw bucks chasing on every sit. Finally got one to slow down enough for a shot yesterday morning. Pic is in the 1/25 live thread.
