Default Disabled Hunting weekend

Our club hosted for the second time disabled kids and adults this weekend. It was the first time for me as I just joined the club. After a nice lunch we handed out presents to our guests provided by our sponsors and went into the woods. I was hunting with my new buddy Tal. He did very well being patient all the time. At 4pm a big ole doe stepped out and gave him a broadside shot at 80 yr. Unfortunate he shot just over her back. The Doe looked at us, thinking what the heck and took off. As sunlight was running out, a mall 6pt stepped out and he got another shot. The deer acted as it was hit but ran off. We looked for blood but couldnít find any. We called a dog and he didnít find anything as well so we call it a clear miss. I felt so sorry for my new friend but he was actually very happy. He has never seen deer before up close and was happy to squeeze the trigger twice. In total we had 26 guest and killed 9 deer Saturday afternoon. This was by far my best hunt ever and memories will last forever.

Awesome. As a parent of a child with special needs, I applaud you for your selfless contribution.

A little about my story.

I have a 14 y/o girl that was born with spina bifida, her mobility is restricted to using a wheelchair. About 6 years ago , through word of mouth, I got a invite from someone I only know as "Shane" on another site, to come up to his lease in Evergreen to let my baby girl hunt. She was 8 years old at the time. After setting up in a ground blind, a doe worked her way into the patch, after some coaching, baby girl pulled off a 100 yd shot with her .243 and the doe fell where she stood.

Every year since, I get a call from Shane and get an invite up to let her hunt, I've never met Shane but have talked to him on the phone on multiple occasions. I am forever greatful for his kindness for inviting us up every year. He knows the hunting I do on the river swamp is tough enough for a able bodied being, let alone someone with special
Needs. He allows me to share my love for the outdoors with my daughter that I otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to do. I hope one day to be able to do as he has done, and provide the opportunity to get someone in the woods that otherwise has no means to do so.

Here is the pic of my daughter and her 1st deer.
