Completely agree with the suggestion to get a harness. It saves your neck and the binocs are always in the same place. They don't bump around the stand either.

I would suggest Pentax DCF binoculars. I prefer 10x42. You can get them on eBay for around $225

I remember when I got my Steiners they came with a cool strap that had the logo sewn in... I hunted 1 season with it, every time I bent over to look at something they hung right in the way, then one morning in the dark I went to step off my ladder sticks onto my lock on and they hung on one of the steps and bout made me fall. I ditched the cool strap for the harness that afternoon and it was a game changer... even if you end up with a $20 pair of "Focals" from K-Mart you gotta have a harness!

Look at the Leupold Yosemite, they come in 6x40, 8x40, and 10x40. They are around $120 a pair, nice glass, great economy binos
