Default 40 ft shipping container

I bought and had a 40 foot high cube shipping container delivered to my property last week. It came from a big distributor in New Orleans. Did a quick halfazzed level job on it and looks like it's going to be an awesome storage area. It's huge inside and will fit several of the wheeled machines and some shelving. It's sealed and watertight also. Company ensures that before its delivered. Doors are very easy to open. I had them install vents to help with the heat and humidity and also had a lock box installed so you can't cut the lock off. I cut a spot out of some woods to put the contaimer back in there so the trees will eventually grow back over the roof and help cool it down some. I might also put a roof over it atsome point. I'm going to put in concrete footers and lower the container a little bit but it is going to work well for what I need it for. I'm on my mid day break from hunting and was out messing with the container so figured I'd post a quick write up on it.

About what did that cost you, delivered? I could use one at my river cabin.

Container itself was 2200. With vents, lock box, and delivered from New Orleans to north of Defuniak Springs it was 3500 total. If you get one definitely get a high cube. Much larger than the standard container. Its 9'6" tall if I remember right.

That looks great, add a ladder to the top and you have a blind location too! Actually when I had one I built more storage on top, an AC unit installed along w power and water. Used it as storage and workshop...+10 on the high cube, even built a loft in it to store lumber.

Good idea on the stand Max! I do plan to run power to it when I get to it. I've seen online what some folks do to these to make them into homes. It's insane what they turn into!!

You also get these in Mobile. They come in diff. "grades" relative to their condition, ranging from new to used and dented.

We used to convert these into temp. controlled electronic control rooms for power projects.

I don't think you can go wrong with one of these they will last for years and can be modified as you want.
