Default 2018 Spending on deer (crazy)

I never sat down and did the numbers but the local feed store tracks it for their customers.

I spent $2,200 and some change their during 2018. Soil test, lime, seed, fertilizer, minerals/salt and almost $700.00 on corn.

That doesn't include bulk corn purchased at another location and gear.

I have got to cut back for 2019. Heck, I don't even really eat deer meat. I had two processed last year and gave most of it away.

About to give it a try this morning. Hopefully I can catch a good one still walking after daylight.

Got <$100 in license, fuel bill about $1200 in the hunting buggy, oh and $125 for a state trooper issued ticket for not having a tag on 4 wheeler trailer!

Expensive huh!! Now add the cost of the processing fees for those 2 deer, plus estimate your fuel bill and any extra stuff like de-scent sprays, doe/buck pee and new hunting clothes, etc. Do not count camo that you will wear out of deer season. Get that total and divide the total processed deer meat weight into it.
That is your Price per Pound you spent. Probably could have bought 5 or more beef cattle and ate high on the hog with money to spare.
But all in all, the cost of enjoyment carries no price tag.

The question is do you enjoy it? Hard to put a dollar on it, for me that is. But I rarely get to go these days.
