Default 2015: The Year of an EPIC Gator Season

I was fortunate enough to draw tags again this year. This time Santa Rosa County week 2. So I hired Capt. Tim Land and Scott Bradley to be my gator guides again this season. Needless to say, things couldn't have gone any better. The 1st night was devoted to my 15 and 13 year old daughters. They scored their 1st gator. He was a 7 footer and I couldn't have been more proud.

The girls couldn't go out the following night due to it being a school night. So I asked a friend to join me and lets just say a quiet evening turned chaotic around midnight...Tim & Scott got us on a MONSTER gator and he was a brute. All four of us had a line on the beast and he took 5 shots from the .357 bang stick and he was still growling at us as we were taping his jaws. Needless to say, it was exciting. We couldn't get him in the boat, and slowly chugged our way back to the boat ramp trying to figure out a way to hoist him up and out of the water & into my truck. A special thanks to "George" for coming out in the middle of the night to help us load this gator. He ended up weighing 593 pounds and was 12 feet 10.5 inches long.

Keep in mind that I am 6'5"

Yup, this was an EPIC Gator Season....Thanks again to Land & Sea Charters....None of this would have happened without your expertise and tenacity...Even when I was being a punk and saying I wanted to hold off for a bigger one :-)
