Default Atomic Aquatics Regulators

I tried an Atomic T2 titanium reg a few years back on a dive in Cancun. We were only about 75' but the reg was the most effortless I had ever used. I'm thinking about buying one now vs. buying a Scubapro. Can any of you guys give me some advice on these two?

Thanks

That is a great choice. The original engineers that worked for ScubaPro branched off and built Atomic Aquatics. Fantastic choice. If I were to re buy I would go with that reg.

Atomic has several different models available, with prices starting in the $400's.

We've been selling Atomic regulators for many years, and they have been by far the best performing and most trouble free brand we've ever sold. Come by MBT or give us a call if you need more info.

Atomic regs are Very nice.

I've had the opportunity to dive the Z1 once and the M1 once. I was very impressed with both. If I were buying a set, I'd go with the M.

I dive the Atomic M-1. This is the Monel first-stage. It is by far the best regulator I have ever had, and it is about half of the cost of the Titanium version. Monel is a very strong, corrosion resistant, oxygen compatible metal. The benefits of Titanium are obviously the corrosion resistance and the light weight, but the drawback is that Titanium and oxygen don't play well together. That is why the Titanium regulator is only rated for 40% EAN, where as the Monel first stage is rated for 50%-80% EAN. So unless you plan on diving your regulator, and dragging it through the sand and never rinsing it off, then in my opinion, there is no reason to spend the money on the Titanium regulator when you can get the same performance with more versatility out of the Monel version. And if you don't plan on doing any Nitrox greater than 40% then you can save even more money and go with the Z-1 which is a Zirconium first-stage. Bottom line, you will be hard pressed to find a better breathing more durable regulator than the Atomic, whichever first-stage you choose to go with.

'no woryz', remember that Rich was a philosophy major at 'Bama...which means every explanation is followed by, "I made all that up, but it sounded good didn't it?"! Don't worry, Rich has been my Instructor and DM(or is it DI?!)for countless hours and I still fall for it!

You can't go wrong with the Atomic. I had an M-1 and will get another one as soon as I get back.
