Default Testing out the new toys...

Had a friend in town on R&R and he called me to tell me he got a new bowfishing setup and I had just got a new JBL explorer 22 I was dying to shoot. Decided to play hookie yesterday and play with the new toys. Started out drifting some grassbeds near the FWB yatch club, had my friend billy in the tower looking for fish. Soon realized that making an accurate shot in anything over 2 feet was very hard, the arrow deflected in a different direction every time it hit the water. We knew picking out a single fish wasn't gonna happen but we finally found a nice school of mullet and stuck one.

I checked the tide and we had about an hour of clear water left so we headed out the pass for some shallow structure to freedive on. The wreck was loaded with black snapper and I shot 3 before heading back to the boat, about 5 minutes later my buddy showed up with a nice sheepshead. It's nice to be in Destin during the week when there isn't 5000 boats around.

when bowfishing you gotta aim a little low at the target. shooting mullet is a lot of fun and challenging.
