Default Snapper Time... Again

Let me start this by saying that not being able to shoot triggerfish absolutely stinks. However, the crew this week was Fred, Mitchell, Alan, and myself. With the seas calling for 1 foot or less, Alan was kind enough to let us take his 22' Hydrasport, and let me be the first to tell you... this thing handled as well any boat I have been on that size. Seas were 1-2 most of the day, but even when met with 3 footers the boat just rode extremely smoothe for that size of vessel. We headed out of the mouth of Mobile Bay around 0730 on Thursday, and we were not quite sure what kind of vis we would find after the monsoons that have taken place in the last week. We hit public numbers all day, but vis was nothing like what we wanted. On most dives it was around 10 feet. We managed to get a solid limit of the endangered ARS, ranging from 16 to 28 pounds. The biggest snapper of the day once again came at the hands of the infamous, Mitchell. All of our dives were around 115 feet of water, and current was little to none. Overall, we had a blast again in the Gulf, and we all made it home safely with a nice ice chest full of snapper. Here are a few pics from the day. The last is of Mitchell's youngins with his big sow. Happy diving, Dustin
